RECOVERY, HEALING & STRENGTHENING YOGA
31 mars, 2015 · by Malin · in #aSwedeOnAdventure
Already after just a few weeks of attending about 2 yoga classes a week I feel noticeable improved balanced in my movements, specially when I practice my other training calisthenic, squatting, running etc.. Chaitanya Yoga in Table View is a traditional yoga studio with the nicest vibe that welcomes you. 2 floors with different levels of classes each day, both morning and evening, mon-sat. Perfect place to go, to put my mind with focus on my own balance, harmony and to be guided and inspired in movements and thoughts. Even if I do practice movements/relaxation on my own it is still a lot better and easier to improve by being guided. Being strong and relaxed in mind plays such a big part of how you live and feel about your life, to be strong enough to clean your mind from unnecessary thoughts that just takes place and doesn’t do any good for you in the end and to be relaxed and confident to trust your own heart and allow yourself to feel love and happiness. Now when I am working more and more with film stunts, my dream of my dream, there my physical ability makes the difference. I need and want to feel balanced, I want to always improve in skills, be stronger and be focused to take on more, new jobs and challenges. The more relaxation, movements and awareness we get to our own bodies, the better and easier it will be for us in any situation in life. For us to get where we want to be and feel how we want to feel.
This place is in Table View and I recommend it highly if you live close or have the possibility to travel. Every week we get e-mail sent to us about the weeks theme and thoughts. Every day we get a sms update about today´s or tomorrow´s class to feel prepared in mind and body.

CHAITANYA – SCHOOL OF YOGA.. AND SCHOOL OF LIFE

7 mars, 2015 · by Malin · in #aSwedeOnAdventure
I´m very happy about my new place to go and have my me-time, strengthening balance, breathing, movements.. Chaitanya – School of Yoga, a traditional yoga studio/house here in Table View. They sharing and guiding people through different styles of yoga everyday both morning and afternoon. I have only been there a couple of times yet and already feel inspiration of their passion to yoga and to help us understand and see ourselves to increase  movements, breathing and connection to our own energy. Laurence, one of the owners and teachers, has calm open minded coaching, he also shows a nice sense of humor and kindness, makes us smile and having a good time. It feels very nice to be there and looking forward to learn even more about myself and yoga.

DISCOVERING THE JOURNEY

The Free Yoga on the Beach session in Table View on Saturday attracted people from all over Cape Town.

Two figures walk on the Table View beach while the morning sun gently strokes their backs. Way beyond the breakers, faded outlines of ships disappear and reappear in the white mist. The waves wash over their weary feet until they are at peace.
Yoga master Laurence Milner (53) looks at the Tygerburger journalist and affirms that people are stressed out and in need of a little escapism. We stop and look back along the beach to where we came from. Hundreds of people are preparing themselves for the annual Free Yoga on the Beach, an initiative of Chaitanya School of Yoga. The journalist notices that his and Laurence’s winding footprints have been washed away by the persistent waves.
“Yoga is not about perfection. It is not about putting your right foot around your left ear. It is about doing what you can, in your time... In your space,” says Laurence.
Table Mountain rises from the mist, creating the impression that it is floating above the City Bowl.
“Yoga doesn’t work from without, it works from within. It isn’t about touching your toes, it is about what you learn on your way down,” he continues serenely.
Laurence has learnt a lot in the ten years he’s been a Yoga student. When he was first introduced he was suffering from addiction, but he has since discovered a new way of living. His first impression of Yoga reflects the perceptions of many.
“A lot of people tend to think it is very soft, weak and gentle, and primarily for older people. This perception is changing in a big way. Most people leave their first introduction to Yoga with the thought that they should have started years ago.”
Laurence looks at the powerful dynamic of the breaking waves and adds: “Yoga can be very strong and physical.”
As we walk back to the large gathering of centred individuals and those who long to find themselves, Laurence declares that this is the fourth year the school of yoga has hosted the free 75 minute session on the beach.
Every year the turnout is bigger, and today (Saturday), about 260 people became one with themselves and with nature.
“Being around moving water is very healthy for your body, and the soft, sandy surface works the muscles, ligaments and joints on a slightly deeper level. Ultimately, what better way to do Yoga than to come together on a beautiful morning, listen to the ocean and practicing it in absolute nature?”
After the two part company, the journalist walks passed all the keen students and notices something that each and every one has in common.
They have all come to a complete standstill.
Behind them the buildings tower, the traffic race, and the mad rush of the world endure.
